Defining surrogacy?
Surrogacy is a form of third-party reproduction in which a woman agrees to carry the child of the other parents. This is generally done due to the medical reasons of the biological parents who are unable to conceive their children. There are two types of surrogacy which are as follows:
1) Traditional surrogacy: here, surrogacy makes use of the surrogate’s mother’s egg for conception
2) Gestational surrogacy is done by transferring embryos made through IVF with eggs from the intended parent or donor.
Pregnancy and gestation involve psychological burdens and different health risks for the surrogate mother. The legal procedures for parenthood that follow surrogacy are complicated due to the typical legal assumption that the woman who gives birth to the child is the legitimate mother of the child. A surrogate mother is mostly required to abandon the parental authority formally, and then the intended parents accept the child born.
Ukraine and the surrogacy tourism
Ukraine has been one of those countries that have attracted a huge number of parents interested in surrogacy. Throughout Ukraine, advertisements about being a surrogate mother are put across on busses and plastered on the metro. Questions like if one is between the age of 18 and 35 or if they have healthy children and are physically and psychologically fit are common questions asked to the surrogate. The country allows surrogacy tourism which pulls parents from all around the world.
This is legal in Ukraine, unlike other countries. The country tends to recognize the intending parents as the biological parents from the moment of conception and places no limit on surrogacy payment. This leads to the women demand their chosen price basing the conditions. This opens up new opportunities for surrogating women, and hence more of them are interested in it. The liberal laws of the country end up attracting huge surrogacy tourism. Surrogacy treatment in Ukraine is also comparatively better than in any other country.
The places from where one opts for the child from Ukraine play an important role as well. Many clinics in Ukraine tend to be extremely well maintained and transparent. Other agencies also don’t take good care of the woman that leads to future complications. So, it is necessary to choose the correct surrogacy agency in Ukraine to give good care to the child.
How does it work?
There are some of the laws of surrogacy that have to be approved of before getting into the3 process.
1. The couple opting for surrogacy must be married and prove that they cannot carry a baby for any medical reasons.
2. At least one parent must have to develop a genetic link to the baby. Egg donors are frequently used.
3. Cost can vary up to the range of $30,000-$45,000 on average.
4. The surrogate would have no legal right to claim custody of the baby.
Conclusion:
Parenthood is bliss and a huge responsibility at the same time. A couple must be assured to take the responsibility well enough and then go for surrogacy. The Surrogacy houses in Ukraine provide good sources of treatment and care and so can be opted by a couple from the native places or abroad. Proper care, treatment, and laws can make this a beautiful experience for both the coupe and surrogate.
